Welcome to Gluten-free (GF) Living in El Dorado County!

Since I am celiac and am always on the lookout for new restaurants and stores that are GF friendly, I was wishing for a website that contained resources specific to our area. Forums are great, the support group is essential, but I was looking for something more interactive. So I decided to create such a website myself! Zoomshare makes it easy to create a free website, but there are a few limitations. One is that I could not host a true forum; the best I can do is this Blog setup. It is possible for members of the public to read and reply to my posts, so please do so! If you have a subject that you would like to see, send me an e-mail at gfeldorado@zoomshare.com . Please remember that the opinions of those who choose to post are just opinions, but I will remove anything I find to be offensive, inflammatory or derogatory.

Chocolate Cake Kathe
Angela - This is terrific! Thank you so much! The next El Dorado County Celiac Support Group meeting will be Sunday, January 13, 2008, at Federated Church. Topic is open. I'm thinking of doing a review of things we learned from Amy. Any other suggestions are welcome. Favorite restaurants in El Dorado County are Sequoia and Redbud Cafe. They don't have g-f menus. At Redbud you are pretty much limited to salads, but their salads are great. Sequoia will work with us, but it helps to go there when they are NOT busy. Have you tried Heyday? I've heard they are good, but don't know what they serve. We also eat at the Courtyard Cafe, but always order the California Salad. Thanks again for creating this blog. I'm blog illiterate so please forward any tips.

New to Sacramento
Hello my name is Eileen and I will be new to Sacramento soon. It will be hard enough to find my way around town let alone trying to find a good place to eat. Any information that you can send my way would helpful. Thank you I look forward to hearing from you. Eileen
